Friday morning accident leaves one dead

An accident left one man dead early Friday morning just north of Big Spring.
An 18-wheeler and a motorcycle collided about a half mile north of Interstate 20 on U.S. Highway 87 about 6 a.m.
According to Department of Public Safety, the victim — driver of the motorcycle — is 30-year-old Nathaniel Meyer. Unconfirmed reports state that Meyer was not wearing a helmet upon impact with the 18-wheeler.
No injuries were reported in regard to the truck driver. Due to the accident, northbound traffic was blocked off for several hours.
Official details of the accident were unable to be obtained at press time. More information will be brought as it becomes available.
