Parkview to hold festival for National Nursing Home Week

This week is National Nursing Home Week, and one local nursing home is celebrating the occasion with a big festival.
"We're having just a big party. This is National Nursing Home Week, so we've invited the public. We did this last year and we had an incredible turnout," said Kristi Beauchamp, administrator of Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. "It kind of goes hand in hand with kiddos toward the end of school, too. We're doing it from 4 to 6 (p.m.) on Friday. Our residents love being around kids and getting to see kids. We've got a big blow-up water slide we're going to have out front. We're doing a cookout with hot dogs and stuff. We've got a little train ride the kids can do. Dimples the Clown will be here, we'll be doing face painting, and then a lot of our local area hospice and home health companies will be here, and they're going to be providing a game and prizes as well. So just a lot of fun."
Beauchamp said the event is open to the public, and free of charge.
