Week 9: GCHS, Grady in pivotal games as season winds down

October 28, 2010

Josh Colunga gas 1,000 rushing yards on the season and he looks to keep up the pace.

Grady (7-1, 2-0 in district play)
at Borden County (7-1, 2-0)

LENORAH — Grady is fresh off one of the biggest wins of the season when the Wildcats took Sands down 48-30 last week.
Now the Wildcats have the chance to make an even bigger statement with a win over Borden County and a strong grip on the district with Sands and Borden County play next week.
Joe Cook's 12 rushes for 83 yards and one score helped Grady get the win over Sands. Cook, quarterback Shane Teague and Jake Rodriguez hope to continue being catalysts for the Wildcats.

Rankin (2-6, 1-0)
at Garden City (8-0, 1-0)

GARDEN CITY — No. 1 Garden City will look for another win on its quest to defend the state championship. This week, Rankin visits the Bearkats.
The Red Devils are coming off an impressive 46-0 win against Sierra Blanca, but no matter which team it is, it remains to be seen who can stop Josh Colunga, Blayne Batla and the Bearkats.
