BSFTA to hold event on Election Day

With the election coming up Saturday, local food trucks are planning to set up outside the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum to help encourage residents of Howard County to get out and vote.
Linda Burchett, who helped establish the Big Spring Food Truck Association, wanted to do something different this year to help bring residents out to the polls and get people voting.
“The turnout has been so low in the past elections that I wanted to get it back to the way it used to be,” said Burchett. “Maybe it will get people motivated and get them out to vote.”
After residents have voted and receive their ‘I voted’ sticker, they will be able to go out to the food truck and get a complimentary snow cone or hotdog.
