BSSO performs ‘Side By Side’ with area young musicians

The music which inspired the Broadway musical "Kismet," music from the Tom Hanks movie "The Terminal," and music from one of America's greatest composers highlighted the stage Saturday night during the Big Spring Symphony Orchestra's "Side By Side" concert.
Guest Conductor Maestro John Giordano, a frequent guest to BSSO concerts and Music Director Emeritus of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, led the orchestra through the concert, to much enjoyment from those present.
For the last two numbers, band members from Big Spring High School, Colorado City High School, and Howard College were added to play side by side with the Orchestra.
"I think it went extremely well, especially when we added the young people. It was just wonderful. I really enjoyed it," Giordano said. "It's an extraordinary orchestra. ...
