In case you missed it, here were some of the stories covered in Sunday's Herald:

• It was Halloween in the Cross Roads area. A number of schools and pre-schools held costume parades and trick or treating on Friday, the day before Halloween.

• The HOPE Foundation opens applications for its first grants aimed at supporting innovative teachers.

• New Look! The Heritage Museum and Alon USA unveiled the updated Big Spring Refinery exhibit Thursday night. Also Alon donated $200,000 to the Heritage Museum's Endowment Fund.

• Howard County Grand Jury indicts man in connection to hit and run death of Tiodoro Diaz.

• Sports editor Taylor Ellis gives a wrap up of Friday night high school football games and the first game of the season for the Howard College Lady Hawks.
